Martin joined Raiffeisen Investment as a Member of the Executive Board in April 2002. He is responsible for the Heavy Industry, Telecoms Media Technology and Financial Sponsors sectors, the countries Russia, Poland, Romania and Hungary as well as Network management, Operations, Accounting & Controlling. Since joining the company Raiffeisen Investment has been involved in 50% of all carbon steel transactions in CEE, advised on all major telecoms transactions in SEE and achieved the best results in the Company's history in 2004 and 2005. Martin joined Raiffeisen Investment from Star 21 Networks in Frankfurt, a pan- European telecoms infrastructure company, where he held the position of Managing Director for M&A and corporate finance. During his tenure Star 21 raised approximately €500 million in private equity from institutions including GE, Dresdner Bank, Deutsche Bank, Nortel, IBM, Accenture, Bechtel and Vivendi. Prior to Star 21 he was a Director at GE Capital in London responsible for infrastructure private equity investments in the German speaking countries. Before that Martin was a Director at CIBC Oppenheimer in London, a US/Canadian investment bank advising on merger & acquisitions and privatisations as well as large project finance transactions across Europe. He started his career in Vienna at an Austrian auditing firm. Martin holds a Masters of Law from the University of Innsbruck.
