2011 - Buy - Side Advisor to ContourGlobal

cgRaiffeisen Investment advised on the largest M&A deal in Bulgaria in 2011– The acquisition of a 73% stake in the lignite-fired plant “Maritza East III” from Enel by ContourGlobal for a total consideration of 545 million Euros.

 

2008 - 2011 - Sell - Side Advisor to the Turkish Government

Baskent_Sedas_Turkey_flag_priv-agRaiffeisen Investment together with Lazard and McKinsey acts as a sell-side advisor to the Turkish Government. The Turkish Government is in the process of subsequently privatising regional electricity distribution companies owned by TEDAŞ (Turkish Electricity Distribution Company). The privatization of all 18 distribution regions represents the largest privatization mandate in the history of energy & utility privatizations in South Eastern Europe. Up to now 9 regional distribution companies with a total deal value of USD 5bn. have successfully been privatised.

 

2010 - Sell - Side Advisor to ABK Enerji Elekrtik Uretim A.S.

abknewlogo3In 2010 Raiffeisen Investment acted as exclusive sell-side financial advisor to the shareholders of ABK Enerji Elektrik Uretim A.S. to sell 100% stake. A group of Turkey based investors has acquired ABK Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS, which controls a 30 MW late development stage wind farm project located in Western Turkey, for an undisclosed consideration. The project was ready for construction with all legal permits acquired and financing in place.
The transaction was closed on the 5th of April, 2010.

2007 - 2010 – Buy-side Advisor to RWE AG

rweRaiffeisen Investment advised RWE regarding the privatisation of power plant assets and greenfield investments in Kosovo, in Bulgaria and in Serbia.

2009 – Buy-side advisor to Statkraft A.S.

Statkraft

Raiffeisen Investment successfully advised Statkraft, the largest Norwegian power company, against several other bidders on entering the Turkish hydro power market. Statkraft and Global Yatirim Holding, a publicly quoted Turkish holding company, have closed a transaction pursuant to which Global sells 95% of its shares in its wholly owned subsidiary Yesil Enerji A.S., which holds controlling interests in seven hydroelectric plants throughout Turkey with a combined generation capacity of ca. 547 MW, to Statkraft



2006-2008 – Privatisation Advisor to the Government

NIS_PetrohemijaIn 2006 - 2008 Raiffeisen Investment advised the Government of the Republic of Serbia on the biggest privatization project so far in Serbia - "Naftna Industrija Srbije" (oil industry) and “HIP Petrohemija” (petrochemical industry). Advisory services were carried out jointly with Merrill Lynch.


2007 – Financial Advisor to EMFESZ

Raiffeisen Investment advised EMFESZ, the Hungarian energy company and subsidiary of Group DF, on the acquisition of a 49% stake in an electricity generation company in Transnistria. The deal was signed in 2007.




2007 – Financial Advisor to RAO UES

Raiffeisen Investment – together with a partner – is advising RAO UES on the reorganisation of its distribution companies. RAO UES is the largest power holding in Russian Federation.


2007 – Financial Advisor to Energie Steiermark AG

Raiffeisen Investment prepared a strategic investment study for Energie Steiermark AG, which is majority-owned by the federal government of Styria. Energie Steiermark AG is the fourth larges utility in Austria.


2007 – Financial Advisor to EAPC

Raiffeisen Investment performed a study for Eilat Aschkelon Pipeline Co. Ltd. (EAPC) from the Middle East on investment opportunities in storage tank and marine related facilities.


2006 – Buy-side Advisor to Centra Gas AG

In 2006, Raiffeisen Investment acted as buy-side advisor to Centra Gas AG, a holding company headquartered in Vienna, in the acquisition of Astrakhan Oil & Gas Field in Kazakhstan.


2006 – Financial Advisor to Centra Gas AG

Raiffeisen Investment acted as financial advisor to Centra Gas AG in connection with the establishment and structuring of a joint venture with Turkmen Gas for Ukrainian Gas imports.


2005 – Privatisation Advisor to the Municipality of Wroclaw

Raiffeisen Investment advised the Municipality of Wroclaw on the privatisation of MPEC (Municipality Thermal Energy Enterprise). Fortum, a Finnish strategic investor, paid € 71m for 54% of the share capital.
