Efect Media had a turnover of EUR 2.5 million last year, equivalent to a market share of 10%. The acquisition by Multireklam is part of the company’s strategy to become a regional player. Efect Media will continue consolidate and to strengthen its position mainly through organic growth, but also via further acquisitions of other local players.
The Romanian outdoor market has been growing rapidly, in line with the advertising market in general. The expectations for the market size in 2006 are around EUR 30 million. By comparison the Hungarian outdoor market exceeded EUR 60 million in 2005, where Multireklam was a 30% market share. This gives an indication of the growth potential of the Romanian market.
Efect Media has focused on the outdoor premium market operating manly back-lit billboards in high traffic, central locations and has gained a 10% market share in only 4 years. This was one of the reasons that Efect Media was so attractive to the purchaser. The existing management will remain with the company.
